How I Won a Fully Funded Master’s Scholarship in Canada After 14 Rejections

Trocstories Scholarship Success Interview Series

Guest: Daniel Eze, MSc Student, Canada

Background: Graduated with a Second Class Upper in Civil Engineering from a Nigerian university. Worked for three years as a site engineer before securing admission and a fully funded master’s scholarship in Canada.

Trocstories: Daniel, congratulations on securing a fully funded master’s scholarship in Canada. Let’s start from the beginning. Before the scholarship, who was Daniel Eze?

Daniel Eze: Thank you.

I think the first thing people should know is that my journey was very ordinary.

When people hear “fully funded scholarship,” they often imagine someone who graduated with a first class, published multiple research papers, or had exceptional achievements from the beginning.
